Top Russian diplomat, French senators discuss bilateral ties, Ukraine conflict
MOSCOW. May 12 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Meshkov and a visiting delegation of the French Senate have discussed ways to settle the Ukrainian crisis and the role of the 'Normandy format' in these efforts, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on its website.
"The discussions also addressed key issues of bilateral cooperation" and included an exchange of opinions on attempts to falsify history, it said.
"In light of celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, the parties reaffirmed the need to fight against attempts to falsify historical facts and attempts to vindicate the Nazi ideology," the ministry said.
