West destabilizes Russia, wants to change its policies - Patrushev
ASTRAKHAN. May 14 (Interfax) - Russia is subject to powerful pressure from the West due to the events in Ukraine, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said in Astrakhan on Thursday.
"For more than a year, Russia has been experiencing massive political, economic and information pressure from the West because the people's will was fulfilled - Crimea reconnected with the Russian Federation and became its part," he said.
A key goal of the West is to destabilize the situation in Russia and change its independent policies, he said.
"For these purposes, they are using the conflict in the south-east of Ukraine, anti-Russian sanctions, political and propaganda pressure and technologies to provoke crises in the financial, economic, social and political spheres," Patrushev said.
