U.S. against supplying arms to either party to Ukrainian conflict - Nuland
MOSCOW. May 18 (Interfax) - Arms supplies to all parties in the conflict in Ukraine must be stopped, but the United States has yet to see that happen, says Victoria Nuland, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State.
The U.S. principled position consists in that all parties to this conflict must fully remove their weapons, discontinue shipments, including weapons sent by Russia for "separatists" in eastern Ukraine, she told a press conference after talks in Moscow on Monday.
According to the U.S., that has not happened yet, she stressed.
At the same time, Nuland said that during the talks between U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Sochi the parties stated that Russian support for separatists will be seen as violation of the Minsk agreements.
