Iran could become SCO member after reaching nuclear deal - Lavrov

MOSCOW. May 18 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov believes in reaching a deal over Iran's nuclear program on time, i.e. before June 30, and thinks that after the deal is reached nothing will prevent Iran from joining the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

"We hope that the approximate, desirable timeframe that was set by the six negotiators and Iran, namely June 30, is quite feasible," Lavrov said during a business breakfast at the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper's office on Monday.
