Lavrov: Council of Europe ministers adopt important declaration on countering extremism, terrorism
BRUSSELS. May 19 (Interfax) - The foreign ministers of the Council of Europe member-states passed a declaration on opposing violent extremism and terrorism and an action plan to put this declaration into practice, at a session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in Brussels on Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"We attached particular significance at this session to combating the increasing threat of extremism. An important document has been adopted, a declaration on countering extremism and terrorism, which provides for additional principles of our work in this area. An action plan has also been adopted to put this declaration into practice," Lavrov said in summing up the session's outcomes.
