"According to the data from anthropological tests, the soldiers and officers died during the Napoleonic wars in the beginning of the 19th century," says Vladimir Popov, Director of the Russian Defense Ministry's department for perpetuating the memory of those killed defending their home country Motherland.
Orthodox and Catholic crosses were put up at the grave, "and in 2016 we are planning to put gravestones, at the Polish expense, with plaques in Russian, French and Polish," he told reporters.
