Red Cross staff spend over an hour with Russians at Kyiv hospital; men to be operated on Thursday
KYIV. May 20 (Interfax) - Representatives from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) spent over an hour with the arrested Russian military servicemen in a ward at the Central Hospital of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry in Kyiv. They declined to speak to the press.
The three ICRC representatives walked past to meet with the servicemen at around 4 p.m. local time an Interfax correspondent reported. After visiting the injured, they spoke to the doctor and left the hospital. When asked by the Interfax correspondent whether they are planning to visit the Russians once again, one of the ICRC officers replied in the affirmative.
Interfax has learned that on Thursday the arrested Russians will undergo routine surgeries because both sustained penetrating gunshot wounds.
