VEB supervisory board to discuss investment of pension funds, number of projects in infrastructure, aircraft, machine building
MOSCOW. May 21 (Interfax) - The supervisory board of Vnesheconombank (VEB) on Thursday will discuss work with pension funds under the state corporation's management, as well as a number of projects in the fields of infrastructure, aircraft and machine building, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said, opening a meeting of the VEB supervisory board.
In particular this concerns investments in the construction of a modern multilane Moscow-St. Petersburg highway. The prime minister said that this is one of the first projects that operate on the principles of a public-private partnership. VEB is party to a concession agreement along with other state structures and private investors.
In addition, at the meeting projects in the field of aircraft and machine building, agricultural machine building and radio-electronics will be considered.
"Also we will speak about the work with pension savings, which are under the management of the bank. Pension money aimed at financing investment projects of the largest Russian companies. It is necessary to determine the conditions of such operations this year in order to reliably invest the money, but also favorably invest in projects, and in order to carry out the tasks that we discussed," the prime minister said.
