Peskov denies allegations of Russian nuclear weapons in eastern Ukraine

MOSCOW. May 21 (Interfax) - Russian President's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov has dismissed as baseless the remarks made by the commander-in-chief of NATO joint armed forces in Europe, Philip Breedlove, that during the Ukrainian conflict Russia placed weapons that can carry nuclear warheads in the east of that country.

"This claim, just as many other similar claims, is based on completely unsubstantiated, unfounded hollow accusations against Russia," Peskov said.

The Kremlin has already answered such questions on many occasions, he stressed, adding that this can be commented upon "in the same way as we have for a long time commented on similar statements containing hollow accusations against Russia".
