Ukraine needs to store up at least 18 Bln cubic meters of gas by Oct 1 for painless autumn/winter season - Russian energy minister
MOSCOW. May 23 (Interfax) - Ukraine needs to pump between 18 billion and 20 billion cubic meters of natural gas into its underground depots by October 1 to have enough gas for this autumn and winter, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on Saturday without saying how much gas is left in the depots today.
Asked whether Ukraine would be able to raise enough money to buy this quantity of gas, Novak said: "We hope they must find the money. In any case, regardless of anything, it's about getting through the winter."
