Lavrov insists Kyiv must lift siege from Donbas
MOSCOW. May 25 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has once again urged Kyiv to honor the Minsk agreements.
"We are extremely worried about the humanitarian situation in Donbas and the socioeconomic degradation of this region caused the siege actually laid by the Ukrainian authorities. The lift [of this siege] is also ensured by the Minsk agreements, and we are urging the Ukrainian administration to fulfill them," he said after negotiations with Azeri Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
Moscow and Baku share the opinion that "everything should be done to boost efforts towards the political resolution of the Ukraine crisis on the basis of the fulfillment of the February 12 Minsk accords, which imply a lasting dialogue between Kyiv, Donetsk and Luhansk," the Russian minister underlined.
