Sollers expecting to keep car sales level with last year - executive
MOSCOW. May 26 (Interfax) - OJSC Sollers is expecting to keep car sales this year at the level of 2014, the company's deputy CEO for sales, Alexei Volodin, told Interfax.
"The same as last year," he said, answering a question about plans for sales in 2015. In 2014, Sollers group reduced sales in Russia by 12% to 75,620 cars.
Commenting on exports, the executive said that the company is also expecting to maintain volumes. "We had sales fall on the Ukrainian market, obviously, last year. Therefore last year for us was not very good from the point of view of exports, because Ukraine accounts for quite large volume," Volodin said. So now, relying on a low base, the company expects to maintain the same volume as last year due to the increase of other markets.
Speaking about sales inside Russia, the executive expressed the hope that the company would perform better than the market. "For now our lag is still about 10%, however the market as a whole, as you know, fell by 40%. By the end of the year, we are expecting to make up for the lag with new products, which we received last year, this is the updated UAZ Patriot," Volodin said.
