Georgia should prepare for NATO summit in Warsaw - minister

TBILISI. May 29 (Interfax) - It is a task for Georgia to make the most of its opportunities before the NATO summit in Warsaw in 2016 for the successful integration with the alliance, Georgian Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili has said.

"The NATO secretary general has declared his loyalty to the open door policy and decisions of the Bucharest summit. He also said in that context that he would support the accession of Montenegro to NATO. It is our task to actively prepare for the summit in Warsaw in 2016 and to acquire broadest opportunities from the priority assigned to Georgia in its integration with the alliance," she told reporters on Friday, commenting on the latest statements by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

"The fact that Jens Stoltenberg has mentioned Georgian achievements and successes and declared the readiness to expand and boost cooperation with Georgia means that we should manage to make our next step towards integration with NATO," she remarked.
