Kyiv obstructing settlement process in Donbas - Lavrov
MOSCOW. May 29 (Interfax) - Western countries monitoring the developments in Ukraine understand that it is precisely Kyiv that is obstructing the implementation of the Minsk agreements, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview shown on the Rossiya-24 news TV channel.
"All principal Western powers monitoring the situation and possessing facts perfectly understand now that the Ukrainian authorities are the main obstacle in the way of the implementation of the Minsk agreements for various reasons," Lavrov said.
At the same time, in commenting on the implementation of the Minsk agreements, Lavrov said that their main provisions, including the termination of an economic blockade, the resumption of payments of social allowances to people in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and the normalization of the banking system's operations have still not been implemented.
"Nothing of this is being done so far," he said.
