EU mission in Moscow gets list of 89 people banned from entering Russia
MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - Russia's Foreign Ministry on Thursday provided the European Union Delegation in Moscow with an 89-name list of EU nationals who are banned from entering Russia, the delegation's chief spokesman said on Saturday.
"We had that list handed over to us from the Foreign Ministry and were told that it wasn't for publication," Soren Liborius told Interfax.
Liborius complained that the no reason was stated for the bans but he expressed satisfaction with the existence of the list as the latter removed some uncertainty. A week ago, a member of the German Bundestag, Karl-Georg Wellmann, was told he was persona non grata after arriving in Moscow and was forced to fly back the next morning, and earlier a Latvian lawmaker was not allowed past passport control.
