Rosatom confirms 2015 investment program at 260 bln rubles

MOSCOW. June 1 (Interfax) - Rosatom's 2015 investment program will be 260 billion rubles, Pyotr Stepayev, the state nuclear corporation's deputy CEO responsible for capex, told reporters at Atomexpo-2015.

Stepayev confirmed a previous forecast for 2015 investment.

"The 260 billion rubles for 2015 is a little lower than for previous years," he said. All the reactor units that are under construction will be completed. In future, the extent of the investment program will depend on the economic situation in the country.

The amount does not include funds invested via Atomstroyexport and EPC contracts, he said.

He said 140 billion rubles of the total was the Rosenergoatom Concern investment program, around 30 billion rubles was earmarked for the Akkuyu nuclear power plant project in Turkey and around 30 billion rubles for Rosatom projects other than nuclear plants.

Stepayev said work on the Kursk NPP was ongoing and that the plant should be commissioned in 2021. The addition of new capacity at the Smolensk NPP will depend on existing capacity being decommissioned.

Rosatom's investment program had been planned at 300 billion rubles, so the actual program will be 13% below plan.

Stepayev said several generating units in Russia had already been rescheduled "due to insufficient financing." The Novovoronezh NPP-2 start-up will take place this year, and Leningrad NPP-2 next year.

Rosatom's 2014 investment program was approved at 320 billion rubles.
