Iran nuclear deal cannot be reached by June 30 if sides make excessive demands - Lavrov

MOSCOW. June 2 (Interfax) - A final nuclear deal for Iran can be reached by June 30 if the sides abstain from making excessive demands, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said.

"If each of the six and Iranian participants stick to the political framework agreed a couple months ago in Lausanne and do not try to get a bit more of what the political framework provides it is perfectly possible to do by the end of June," he told Bloomberg Television in an interview.

Russia has always prioritized quality and subject matter of the Iran nuclear agreements, the minister said.

When the ministers decided to set June 30 as a deadline for reaching the final deal, they clearly indicated that this date is not final and may still change, Lavrov said.
