Kyiv expecting show of solidarity with Ukraine from G7 summit - Klimkin
KYIV. June 2 (Interfax) - Ukraine is expecting support for its reforms from the G7 summit, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said.
"Firstly: we are expecting a very concentrated solidarity with respect to Ukraine and it is a unique case when we have precisely a Transatlantic solidarity: the United States, the European Union and Canada," he told reporters in Kyiv on Tuesday.
On the eve of the summit, G7 high-level representatives will visit Ukraine to discuss with its president the strategic coordination of efforts to put further pressure on Russia to ensure full implementation of the Minsk agreements.
Full implementation of the Minsk agreements can only be registered after Ukraine regains control over its border with Russia, he said.
"Secondly: support for Ukraine's reforms, support for the European agenda, and the G7 is doing quite a lot here," the minister added.
He mentioned, in particular, the energy sector where the G7 countries have actively cooperated with Ukraine.
