Russian, Chinese foreign ministers discuss draft documents for BRICS, SCO summits

MOSCOW. June 3 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Chinese counterparts are planning to discuss in detail the preparations for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) summits due to be held in Ufa.

"At the meeting we are planning to discuss in more detail the preparations for the SCO and BRICS summits in Ufa and to discuss the state of our bilateral relations between Russia and China and coordination of international actions, and the United Nations Security Council," Lavrov told Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at a meeting of the SCO Council of foreign ministers.

The meeting will focus on draft documents prepared for the SCO summit due to be held in Ufa in the first half of July, Lavrov said.

"Among these are special documents which focus on the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, which is also an important factor in our joint efforts," Lavrov told his counterpart.
