Poroshenko calls for speeding up reform in Ukraine
KYIV. June 3 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, at a meeting of the National Reforms Council, has expressed dissatisfaction with the speed of reforms.
"The expectations of our citizens and abroad regarding reforms are very high. As president I am absolutely dissatisfied with the pace of reforms," the presidential press service quoted him as saying on Wednesday.
Poroshenko said that the National Reforms Council is working, and that it is an important and effective instrument. He called for debating reforms precisely at the National Reforms Council, which should allow an increase in the number of supported government decisions in the Ukrainian parliament.
"The fastest possible adoption of reform-oriented initiatives by the government and the Verkhovna Rada should be secured," he said.
