Poroshenko promises to prevent Donbas separation referendum
KYIV. June 5 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has ruled out the possibility of a referendum on the separation of Donbas during his term in office.
"The issue of Donbas' separation is provocative. Being the president, the supreme commander and the guarantor of the constitution, I am also the guarantor of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. I will never allow a referendum on the separation of Donbas to be held," Poroshenko said at a press conference in Kyiv on Friday.
