Death toll from fire at petroleum depot near Kyiv climbs to 2
KYIV. June 9 (Interfax) - One more person has been killed in fighting a fire at a petroleum depot located in the Vasylkiv district of the Kyiv region, bringing the overall number of fatalities to two, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry department for the Kyiv region reported on Tuesday evening.
"As of 5:00 p.m. June 9, it was known about two fatalities. Twelve others, including seven Ukrainian State Emergency Situations Service workers, are in the hospital with injuries, and two more are missing," it said.
Police have opened a criminal case into the incident on charges of "violation of the rules of safe utilization of industrial products or safe operation of buildings and installations causing deaths or other grave consequences."
