Russian diplomat, French ambassador discuss Syria, Libya

MOSCOW. June 9 (ix0 - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and special presidential representative for the Middle East and African countries Mikhail Bogdanov discussed the settlement of the crises in Syria and Libya with French Ambassador to Moscow Jean-Maurice Ripert at a meeting initiated by the latter, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Relevant aspects of the Middle East agenda, including problems of combating the terrorist threat, were discussed during the conversation. Special emphasis was placed on prospects for settling the crisis in Syria and normalizing the situation in Libya," the ministry said.
