U.S. mediator, Armenian leaders discuss ways to resolve Karabakh conflict
YEREVAN. June 10 (Interfax) - The United States co-chairman of the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), which mediates the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, held a number of meetings in Yerevan on Wednesday.
In particular, James Warlick met with President Serzh Sargsian to discuss the current stage of, and further steps in the Karabakh peace process, the Armenian president's press office said.
The Armenian president reaffirmed his willingness to continue efforts to resolve the conflict peacefully jointly with the Minsk Group co-chairmen.
At his meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandyan, Warlick discussed issues relating to the negotiating process over peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict.
The U.S. mediator also met with several members of the Armenian parliament and the Armenian athletes who will be taking part in the European Games in Baku.
The U.S. Embassy to Armenia said on its Facebook page that Warlick welcomed Armenia's bold decision to participate in the Baku games and wished successful competitions to the Armenian athletes.
