CNPC proposes new options for oil transport to China from Russia

MOSCOW. June 11 (Interfax) - China has officially confirmed its agreement to accept another 400,000 tonnes of oil from the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) pipeline system's Skovorodino-Mohe branch pipeline in 2015, aide to Transneft's president and company press secretary Igor Dyomin told Interfax.

He said that an agreement about this was reached during talks on June 5, in which representatives of Transneft, Rosneft and Petrochina International (a subsidiary of CNPC) participated. "We have received confirmation," he said.

"At this same meeting, a representative of the Chinese company spoke about the program for the development of oil refineries in the northwestern part of China. And in connection with this, it was proposed that the Russian companies consider the option that, starting in 2018, the annual volume of transported [oil] via Skovorodino-Mohe will be 20 million tonnes. And 10 million tonnes will be transported through Kozmino port and the territory of Kazakhstan," Dyomin said.
