Russian Consulate General in Kharkiv pelted with eggs, dye
KYIV. June 11 (Interfax) - About 100 people threw eggs and paint at the building of the Russian Consulate General in Kharkiv; by 9 p.m. protestors had started to disperse, the Russian Embassy to Ukraine told Interfax.
"About 100 people held a picket outside the building of the Russian Consulate General in Kharkiv this evening. The assembled acted quite aggressively: they ruined a plate with the diplomatic mission's inscription, having thrown eggs and paint at the facade of the building. In addition, they blocked the consulate with the staff and visitors remaining inside," an embassy official said.
Protestors tried to pour green paint onto the visitors as they were leaving the consulate building, the official said.
By 9 p.m. the picketers started to disperse, the embassy added.
A video posted on social media shows several dozen young men throwing eggs and paint at the building of the Russian Consulate General on Thursday. It also shows law enforcement officers lining up in front of the building.
