Kyiv accuses militia of mass ceasefire violations
KYIV. June 12 (Interfax) - The Kyiv authorities have accused the Donbas militia of shelling the government forces' positions about 60 times over the past 24 hours.
The press center of the special operation in eastern Ukraine said in a statement on Facebook that the militia fired upon "Ukrainian forces' positions and peaceful populated areas; the most complicated situation is in the Donetsk front."
In particular, the militia shelled Pisky, Opytne, Vodyane, Maryinka, Avdiyivka, and Novomykhailivka with 122-mm howitzers, 120-mm mortars, tanks, grenade launchers, and firearms, it said.
"Ukrainian representatives in the Joint Coordination Center for Ceasefire Monitoring reported today that the concentration of a significant amount of armored vehicles was recorded near Telmanove today," the press center said, attributing these vehicles to the militia.
Meanwhile, the self-proclaimed Donetsk people's republic (DPR) militia leaders claimed earlier on Friday that it were Ukrainian government forces that had regularly shelled their positions.
