MS-21 plane to be built in 2015 in collaboration with foreign partners - Irkut president
LE BOURGET (France). June 15 (Interfax-AVN) - Irkut Corporation is successfully building a next-generation passenger aircraft, the MS-21, Corporation President Oleg Demchenko told reporters on Monday.
"The plane project has reached its final lap. We are due to roll the plane out of the workshop this year," he said at the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget on Monday.
A number of planes are being assembled, and "half of the fuselage has been built," he said.
In the words of the Irkut president, the corporation is successfully collaborating with foreign partners in the project.
"We are maintaining very close contacts with European colleagues, and lots of meetings are planned to be held at the Air Show. I am very pleased with our cooperation. We are totally satisfied. Most importantly, every parameter set by plane specifications has been met by partner enterprises," Demchenko noted.
In his words, the corporation was spared by the sanctions. "We are working normally and have no impediments," he said.
