Demand for Russian weapons stable, orders formed for years ahead - Putin

KUBINKA, near Moscow. June 16 (Interfax) - Russian weapons and military hardware remain in rather high demand abroad, with contracts concluded for years ahead, said President Vladimir Putin.

"Our weapons and military hardware remain in rather high demand on the global arms market. Demand has been stable all through these years, and the stock of orders has been formed for years ahead," Putin said at the Army-2015 international military-technical forum.

Putin also said that the forum has brought together delegates from 59 countries and that during the planned presentations the foreign guests "will hopefully have one more chance to see how highly reliable and effective Russian military-purpose products are, and discover new prospects for long-term contracts."

"Russian companies are ready to offer an entire range of services from arms deliveries to post-warranty maintenance and services, and the training of personnel," he said.

"Importantly, we welcome cooperation, joint work and joint development of advanced weapon systems in order to launch promising innovative projects," the Russian president said.
