Belarusian foreign minister meets with participants in Contact Group for Ukraine

MINSK. June 16 (Interfax) - Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei met with the members of the Trilateral Contact Group for Ukraine that gathered for a meeting in Minsk on Tuesday.

"Vladimir Makei met with representatives of Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE chairmanship in the Contact Group," the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"While meeting with Azamat Kulmukhametov, Heidi Tagliavini, and former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, the Belarusian foreign policy chief had a substantive discussion with them on the Contact Group's and the special working subgroups' activities on settling the situation in eastern Ukraine and aspects related to the organization of meetings of various level in Minsk," it said.

Makei reaffirmed Belarus's willingness to provide the necessary conditions for the Contact Group's and the working subgroups' efficient work, it said.

Minsk hosted meetings of the Trilateral Contact Group and its subgroups on political, humanitarian, and security issues on June 16.
