MOSCOW. June 18 (Interfax) - Gazprom and Austria's OMV plan during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum to sign a cooperation agreement for the construction of pipelines and exploration of hydrocarbons in Russia, German newspaper Der Standard said, quoting sources with knowledge of the situation.
Austria's Die Presse has said OMV was working on the Turkish Stream project to deliver Russian gas to Austria via Turkey. The paper said OMV's involvement in the project might have been discussed at the beginning of June at a meeting between Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and Rainer Seele, chairman of Wintershall, at the beginning of June. Seele, a staunch partner of Gazprom, will become CEO of OMV on July 1.
