Russian Constitutional Court to consider State Duma deputies' inquiry regarding applicability of ECHR decisions in Russia
ST. PETERSBURG. June 18 (Interfax) - The Russian Constitutional Court has accepted for consideration an inquiry filed by a group of State Duma deputies regarding explanations on the applicability in Russia of decisions made by the European Court of Human Rights.
According to a report posted on the court's website, the case will be debated in a public hearing on July 1.
The judge reporting on the case is Sergei Mavrin, deputy chairman of the Russian Constitutional Court.
In their inquiry, the parliamentarians ask the court to determine the compliance with the Constitution of some provisions of the law 'On the Ratification of the Conventions on the Protection of Fundamental Human Rights and Basic Freedoms'.
