KYIV. June 18 (Interfax) - Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko has met with a group of leaders and representatives from the G7 countries and the European Union mission to discuss the situation in the country's east and the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

At their meeting in Kyiv on Thursday, Poroshenko thanked the United Kingdom, Italy, Canada, Germany, the United States, France, Japan and the European Union for their unity and constant solidarity with Ukraine on the path towards peace and reform, the president's press office said. In particular, he thanked them for the strong position in support of Ukraine, expressed by the G7 leaders in their Declaration on June 8, 2015.

"The Ukrainian president and the ambassadors and diplomats from the G7 countries and the EU discussed the situation in Donbas, the status of implementation of the Minsk agreements and the reform process in Ukraine," the press office said.

A similar meeting was already held earlier for coordination of positions; now such meetings will be regular, the press office said.
