Next adjustment of ISS orbit scheduled

MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax-AVN) - The next adjustment of the International Space Station (ISS) orbit has been scheduled for the middle of July, a source in the rocket and space industry told Interfax-AVN on Friday.

"The station is expected to be elevated again on July 10, upon the arrival of the Progress M-28M resupply ship at the station," he said.

As it happened on Thursday, the next orbit adjustment will be made via burns of the Progress M-26M resupply ship's engines. "The main task of the adjustment is to create ballistic conditions for the four-orbit rendezvous with the Soyuz TMA-17M manned ship," the source said.

He also said that the Progress M-28M would blast off at 7:55 a.m. Moscow time on July 3 and arrive at the station at 9:59 a.m. on July 5. "The launch of Soyuz TMA-17M is planned for 00:02 a.m. on July 23. The rendezvous will take place at 5:43 a.m.," the source added.
