Lavrov hopes common sense will prevail in Belgium over Russian diplomatic accounts seizure
ST. PETERSBURG. June 19 (Interfax) - Hopefully, the Belgian authorities will display common sense at least in the situation surrounding the seizure of Russian diplomatic missions' accounts in this country, and Moscow will not have to take similar measures with regard to the Belgian Embassy in Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said.
"I hope that common sense will prevail at least as far as our embassy and our other diplomatic offices are concerned, and we will not have to create a similar situation for Belgium's Embassy in the Russian Federation," he said.
"As for Russian companies partially owned by the state that have also been affected by these illegitimate decisions, they should go to court, and, as far as I know, they intend to do so. The same concerns a similar situation that has occurred in France," Lavrov said.
