Two residents of Karachayevo-Cherkessia convicted of recruiting Russians to fight in Syria
ROSTOV-ON-DON. June 19 (Interfax) - The Northern Caucasus District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don has convicted two residents of Karachayevo-Cherkessia of recruiting Russians to fight in Syria.
The convicts , Ruslan Ionov and Murad Nazirov, have been found guilty of recruiting Russian citizens to join military units in the territory of Syria, an Interfax correspondent has reported.
According to the court ruling, Ionov has been sentenced to seven years in a high-security colony and Nazirov has been sentenced to three years in a penal colony.
