Sechin convinced there were no violations regarding subsurface use at Sakhalin-1
ST. PETERSBURG. June 20 (Interfax) - There were no violations regarding subsurface use at Sakhalin-1, Rosneft chief Igor Sechin told journalists on the sidelines of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on Friday.
"I am convinced, that we, in particular, as participants in the project, and Exxon have not committed any violations in the field of subsurface use," he said.
"We are asking Gazprom to give us access to the gas transportation system of Sakhalin-2 to resolve the issue of the monetization of gas and meet all conditions. We will not burn gas. For now it is being pumped into the deposit. We are working on raising the oil recovery coefficient. But at a certain stage we will need to start the production of gas. And without access to this system, we will be forced to bear additional capital expenses for the possibility of transporting this gas or finding another solution. We are now trying to gain access to the gas transportation system in court. We will see. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I think that some sort of solution will emerge for this issue and the conflict will disappear on its own," Sechin said.
