Air defense crews practice deterrence of 'hostile' air attack in Khabarovsk territory

MOSCOW. June 23 (Interfax-AVN) - Tactical drills of air defense missile regiments of an air defense formation of the Eastern Military District have been held in the Khabarovsk territory.

"Crews of S-300 air defense missile systems and command units were alerted and marched towards Lake Khummi. Crews of Sukhoi Su-30SM fighters and Sukhoi Su-24 bombers deployed in the Khabarovsk territory and posing as the simulated enemy conducted a massive air attack," says a report of the Eastern Military District press service seen by Interfax-AVN on Tuesday.

S-300 air defense system crews tracked, locked and simulated destruction of 'hostile' airborne targets. They had to deploy the systems and repel the air attack under the impact of sabotage groups of the simulated enemy, the report said.

The exercises involved more than 500 servicemen and up to 100 special purpose and motor vehicles, Eastern Military District staff said.
