Situation of ethnic Russians in Ukraine to be among topics at World Compatriots Congress - Russian Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. June 24 (Interfax) - The situation in Ukraine and the situation of Russian compatriots in that country will be discussed at the World Congress of Russian Compatriots on November 5-6, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said.
"The situation in Ukraine and the situation of our compatriots there will no doubt be one of the significant discussion topics at the Congress. We are concerned by the situation, and the mood of our compatriots in Ukraine, as well as worldwide is dependent on it," Karasin told reporters on Wednesday.
"No speaker will be able to avoid this topic (Ukraine)," he said. "The Ukrainian crisis and ways to resolve it will be present in every thematic group. But to say that the Congress will focus entirely on Ukraine will not be fair either," the deputy foreign minister said.
