Ukrainian constitution adjustment with disregard for Donetsk, Luhansk standpoints to disrupt peace process - Duma
MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - A constitutional reform in Ukraine held with disregard for the opinions of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics will lead to the disruption of the peace process in the region, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Leonid Slutsky has said.
"A constitutional reform in Ukraine with disregard for the standpoints of the DPR and the LPR will disrupt the peace process in Donbas; that is guaranteed. Yet the war is more important to Kyiv," Slutsky tweeted on Friday.
Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Hroysman said in the small morning hours of Friday that the Constitutional Commission might present a final draft of decentralization amendments to the Ukrainian constitution on Friday.
The speaker said that the parliament might approve decentralization amendments to the Ukrainian constitution by the end of September.
