Primorye customs prevent contraband of large batch of synthetic drugs

VLADIVOSTOK. June 26 (Interfax) - Almost 44 kilograms of synthetic drugs have been seized by Primorye customs officers from a Russian citizens coming home from China.

"A Russian citizen entering Russia from China via the customs post of the Pogranichny border checkpoint was carrying 43 kilograms 865 grams of a narcotic substance bagged in two cardboard boxes in his luggage," Ussuriysk customs office press secretary Yekaterina Tsoi has told Interfax.

A criminal case was opened on the counts of contraband of a very large drug shipment; the maximum punishment for this felony is life in prison.
