Drunken people detained at protest rally in Yerevan

YEREVAN. July 1 (Interfax) - Armenian police and participants in the protest against the rise of electricity tariffs have detained drunken people on Bagramian Avenue in downtown Yerevan.

"We saw drunken people in the morning. We asked them to leave the premises but then noticed that they kept drinking. We called the police, and they [drunken people] were taken to a police station. We are asking drunken people not to come here," the protesters' representative in charge of information issues David Sanasarian has told the rally.

According to unconfirmed reports, three people have been taken to a police station.

Meanwhile, the hunger strike of two people protesting against the rise of electricity tariffs continues on Bagramian Avenue.
