Russian agricultural organizations boost sales of main products in 5M - Rosstat
MOSCOW. July 1 (Interfax) - Russian agricultural organization in January-May 2015 increased the sales of their products in comparison with the same period of last year.
The Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said on Wednesday that grain sales increased by 3.3% to 11 million tonnes in the 5M. They boosted sales of meat and poultry 6.4% to 3.8 million tonnes (live weight). Milk sales grew 4.4% year-on-year to 5.8 million tonnes. Egg sales rose 1.8% to 12.1 billion eggs.
In May 2 million tonnes of grain were sold, which is 4.1% more than in May of last year, 0.8 million tonnes of meat and poultry (5.6% more) were sold, 1.3 million tonnes of milk (3.3% more) and 2.5 billion eggs (1.1% more).
At the same time the growth rates of sales of these products, apart from milk, slowed in comparison with last year. In May 2014, the growth of grain sales was 50.6%, meat and poultry - 7.3%, eggs - 4%. The sales of milk in May of last year rose by 2.6%.
