Avtovaz reduces sales by 12.3% in June to 26,416 cars

MOSCOW. July 2 (Interfax) - The sales of Avtovaz in Russia fell 12.3% year-on-year in June 2015 to 26,416 cars, the car manufacturer said in a statement.

Avtovaz sales rose 15.6% compared with May this year.

According to the statement, the results of the first half of 2015 show Lada Granta leading in sales for the period with 63,500 models sold.

June's preliminary data showed the company's market share rising above 20%. "For comparison, in June 2014, Lada's share was 16%," Avtovaz said.

From January until June 2015, Avtovaz sold 140,646 automobiles in Russia. The market share for the first six months of 2015 was 19% against 16.5% a year earlier.
