Ukrainian health minister Kvitashvili tenders resignation

KYIV. July 2 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Health Minister Alexander Kvitashvili has written a letter of resignation, thereby reacting to the loss of support for the Petro Poroshenko Bloc and hoping to push the passage of medical reform bills.

"I made a decision to step down. When the bloc, which invited me to this job, without discussing with me, is contemplating a decision on my resignation, I think it is right to quit," he told reporters in Kyiv on Thursday.

"If my resignation helps pass the bills that should start the reform, I am ready to leave," the minister said.

Currently, these bills are at the Cabinet's Secretariat, Kvitashvili said.
