Melamed placed under house arrest

MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - Basmanny Court in Moscow has ordered a house arrest of the ex-chief of the Rusnanotech state corporation, Leonid Melamed, in connection with a case over stealing the corporate assets, according to a ruling read out by Judge Natalya Mushnikova after hearing an investigator's request, an Interfax correspondent reported.

The court thus granted the investigator's request for the limitation of freedom and rejected the defense request for a 100 million ruble bail.
