U.S. ambassador doesn't know if Matviyenko will get visa for U.S

MOSCOW. July 8 (Interfax) - U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Tefft has no information as to whether Russian Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko will get a visa for the U.S. to participate in the session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union on the UN platform in late August - early September in New York.

Tefft told reporters on Wednesday he currently does not know if a decision has been made on this matter.

He said that as far as he knows Matviyenko has already applied for a visa.
