Estonia to build firing range for heavy armored vehicles of NATO allies
TALLINN. July 9 (Interfax) - Estonia's government decided to build one more firing range in the country at its meeting on Thursday.
The firing range will be intended for drills of heavy armored vehicles of NATO allies, the government press service told Interfax. Such military exercises cannot be staged at the available Estonian central firing range.
Tactical drills and blank ammunition shooting will take place at the new firing range.
According to the state defense development program for 2013-2022 the firing range will be built in the Harju Province in Anija and Kuusalu regions near the dam lake and the Soodla River.
The firing range will have an area of 5,865 hectares with 32.2 kilometers in perimeter.
