Missile defense networks expanded by certain countries destabilize world - SCO
UFA. July 10 (Interfax) - Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) leaders have opposed the expansion of missile defense networks by individual countries or groups of states fearing that this process can destabilize the international situation.
"We are positive that unilateral and unrestrained expansion of missile defense systems by individual states or groups of states is damaging international security and destabilizing the international situation," says the Ufa declaration passed at the SCO summit in the capital city of Bashkortostan.
The SCO leaders call for the resolution of all problems related to the provision of universal security "with the participation of all interested states and by use of political-diplomatic methods."
"The security of each state must not be achieved at the expense of the security of other countries," the document said.
