Iran nuclear deal eliminates pretexts for using force against Tehran - Lavrov
MOSCOW. July 14 (Interfax) - The conclusion of a deal on the Iranian nuclear program eliminates any pretexts for using force against Tehran, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"It is of fundamental importance that the normalization of the Iran situation eliminates any pretexts for using force against this country, which someone viewed as 'a real alternative to negotiations'," Lavrov said.
The conclusion of the Iran nuclear deal opens new opportunities for resolving a host of other problems and conflicts existing in the region, he said.
It was reported earlier that the P5+1 group of world powers and Tehran had concluded an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program.
